Simeon A. "Alex" Box, 1920-1943. Scrapbook, 1942-1944. 1 volume. Location: Y:83, OS:B. Box was born in Quitman, Mississippi, in 1920 and graduated from LSU in 1942, where he played both baseball and football. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, earning the Distinguished Service Cross shortly before his death in 1943. The scrapbook contains mostly newspaper clippings and letters written to Earle Hubert Wagley following Box's death. Mss. 4181.
