Byrd also discusses the University's decision to allow the construction of sorority houses and describes each step in the construction process of the Tri-Delta sorority house. Programs from gridiron shows put on by both the Capitol Correspondents Association of Baton Rouge, La., and the Central Louisiana Press Club of Alexandria, La., two not-for-profit organizations that support journalists who report on state and local government and politics. The programs contain lyrics to song parodies written by the press members to roast politicians at the national, state, and local levels throughout Louisiana, as well as other newsworthy individuals and issues from the preceding year, including the LSU football team. Papers include engineering files, correspondence, subject files, personnel files, and photographic materials which document civil engineering and construction projects in Baton Rouge and other Louisiana towns. Towns include Amite, Baldwin, Bogalusa, Crowley, Independence, Morgan City, Plaquemine, Port Allen, Rayne, St. Martinville, Slidell, Sulphur, and Vinton. Projects include sewerage and sanitation works, highway construction, subdivision plans, parks, and public facilities. Photographic materials consist of photographic prints, negatives, and 16mm motion picture films depicting engineering and construction work and Carnegie's personal life. Professor of history at Louisiana State University.New York muster rolls, photographs, & publications pertaining largely to the state of New York's participation in the Civil War. Included are postcards depicting Civil War scenes and photographs of maps of New Orleans during the War of 1812. There is also an autograph book containing the names, ranks, and addresses of soldiers in the 10th New York Artillery. Artifacts include Civil War uniform buttons, commemorative ribbons, and a medal. Contains a program for the opera Cavalleria rusticana and a recital of modern dance, performed during the 1936-1937 Louisiana State University Opera Season by the School of Music and the Dance Center, sponsored by The Baton Rouge Grand Opera Association.
